The adult is a pest of citrus, piercing the fruit with its proboscis to suck the juice. Bacteria subsequently enter via the hole and the fruit rots. The larva feed on Sea Almond (Terminalia catappa) and a creeper (Quisqualis sp.), both Combretaceae.
