Herminiidae

  Small dull-coloured moths which resemble the Hypeninae of the Noctuidae. Labial palpi are large, with the apical segment long, slender and pointed or flattened. The tibia of the forelegs is very short and in the males is modified. Most larva feed on dead and decaying leaves. (also placed in Noctuidae - Herminiinae)
